Anela is an instructor, performer, producer, and choreographer of Middle Eastern Dance Fusion based in Pittsburgh, PA. Inspired by a performance at a local renaissance festival, she was instantly captivated with the art form and hasn’t stopped shimmying since her first lesson years ago.

She is humbled and honored to have the opportunity to share her fusion of traditional elements with modern style with the community. Anela performs multiple styles and has thrilled audiences with skirts, canes, single sword, and double swords. An avid student, she studies sword dancing under the tutelage of Belladonna, The Baroness of Blades from DC and is a Certified Bohemian Level 5 Artist Sword Dancer.

La Belle Sultana, Anela’s student troupe, performs at numerous community and charitable events throughout the region including the Pittsburgh Children’s Festival. Her fellow dancers continue to inspire her with their dedication to the dance and the troupe.

Each year Anela produces and hosts the Anti-Valentine’s Day Hafla in February which benefits the no-kill animal shelters in the Pittsburgh area. She currently teaches group classes at Bodiography Center for Movement in Squirrel Hill. For information concerning the annual Anti-Valentine’s Day Hafla benefit, current class offerings, and private/semi-private lessons please visit the class offerings or contact Anela at aneladancer@gmail.com
